Purpose

The Page edits board (or Optimizations Delivery Board) lets your team review, approve, and deliver AI-drafted content changes to your website. When Site Health audits find opportunities to improve your SEO, Athena can draft fixes. This board is where you manage those drafts, push them to your connected CMS (or export them for manual entry), and track whether the changes have successfully gone live.

What’s on the page

  • Page header: Displays the title “Page edits” and description, along with a “Back to Site Health” button.
  • Single-page filter banner: If you arrived here by clicking a link for a specific URL, a banner shows “Changes for [url]” with a “Show all pages” button to clear the filter.
  • Delivery settings: A collapsible section (> Delivery settings) where integration managers can set the “Default delivery method” (Connected CMS, Export, or Mark as applied) and select the “Delivery CMS” provider. Includes a “Save delivery settings” button and a “Manage connections” link.
  • Read-only notice: A banner warning users who lack content-write permissions that they can view edits but cannot change or deliver them.
  • Stage filter bar & search: Buttons to filter drafts by their current phase: “All pages”, “In progress”, “Ready to apply”, and “Applied”. Each button shows a count badge. On the right is a “Search paths” input to find specific URLs.
  • Grouping & Bulk actions: Toggles to organize the board “By page” or “By recommendation”. Also includes a “Copy link to selection” button and a bulk “Apply [N] pages to the CMS” button. Status text appears here while bulk deliveries are saving.
  • Page cards (By page view): Each card groups drafts for a single URL. Features a selection checkbox, the page title/URL, a “See diagnostics” link, and columns organizing the drafts by stage.
  • Delivery cards: Nested inside page cards, these represent specific drafted versions. Each shows:
    • A status badge (e.g., Draft, Needs review, Approved, Ready to apply, Applied, Declined, Page changed since draft, Replaced, Needs attention).
    • A “Version [N]” link to the detailed review workspace.
    • Date and author (“Automatic” if Athena created it).
    • A progress bar showing sections changed.
    • Pending decisions count.
    • Delivery actions (e.g., “Apply to CMS”, export options, or date entry for manual applications).
    • Live check statuses (e.g., “Confirmed live”, “Exported, awaiting application”, or “Live content differs”).
  • Recommendation cards (By recommendation view): Groups pages by the underlying SEO issue they solve. Shows the recommendation title, status counts for affected pages, and bulk approval buttons.
  • Pagination footer: Standard “Previous” and “Next” buttons to navigate between pages (shows up to 50 paths per page).
  • Delivery dialog: A modal that opens when delivering to a CMS. Titled “Deliver version [N] to [Provider]”, it allows you to select the matching CMS item to update.

What you can do here

  • Back to Site Health: Returns you to the main Site Health dashboard.
  • Show all pages: Clears the single-page URL filter to reveal the full delivery board.
  • Filter by stage: Click “All pages”, “In progress”, “Ready to apply”, or “Applied” to narrow down the visible drafts.
  • Search paths: Type a URL snippet to filter the board.
  • Toggle grouping: Click “By page” or “By recommendation” to restructure how drafts are presented.
  • Select pages: Check the boxes next to page cards (supports Shift-click for range selection) to perform bulk actions.
  • Copy link to selection: Copies a URL to your clipboard that links to this board with your selected paths pre-filtered.
  • Apply [N] pages to the CMS: Pushes the staged drafts for all selected pages to your connected CMS.
  • Save delivery settings: Updates your website’s default CMS delivery method and provider.
  • Manage connections: Navigates to Settings → Integrations so you can configure or fix your CMS connection.
  • See diagnostics: Opens the Site Health “Pages” view for the specific URL to show the original audit findings.
  • Version [N]: Click this link on a delivery card to open the draft workspace, where you can read the exact changes and approve or reject them.
  • Apply to CMS: Click this on a staged delivery card to open the delivery dialog and push the edit to your CMS.
  • Check delivery: Re-checks the status of a CMS push that is currently marked as delivering.
  • Download Markdown / Download HTML / Copy developer ticket: Exports the approved content so you can paste it into your CMS manually or hand it off to an engineer.
  • Record applied date: After manually applying an exported draft, use the date picker and click this button to tell Athena to schedule a live verification check.
  • Inspect live check / Compare: Opens the verification report to compare Athena’s approved draft against what was actually found on the live page.
  • Retry verification: Requests a new live check if the previous one failed or mismatched.
  • See results: Opens the Results tab after a draft is confirmed live.
  • Open the page and draft again: Returns to the draft workspace to generate a fresh version if the current one became outdated.
  • Approve pending: (In recommendation view) Approves all pending changes for that specific recommendation across all eligible pages.
  • Approve and deploy: (In recommendation view) Approves pending changes for the recommendation and immediately stages and pushes them to the CMS.
  • Select the existing item: (In the delivery dialog) Choose which live CMS item should receive the updated content.
  • Deliver to [Provider]: (In the delivery dialog) Confirms the push to the selected CMS item.
  • Cancel: (In the delivery dialog) Closes the modal without pushing.
  • Previous / Next: Navigate between pages of the delivery board.

Data shown

  • Optimization drafts: Edits generated by Athena to fix Site Health issues on your tracked pages, along with their review history.
  • Delivery statuses: Records of when a draft was exported, manually marked as applied, or pushed via API, along with the subsequent live-verification results.
  • CMS integrations: Your saved delivery method preferences and live items pulled from your connected CMS provider.

Common workflows

  1. Review and approve a page’s drafted changes, then deliver via CMS
    • Locate a page in the board and look at its “In progress” column.
    • Click “Version [N]” to open the review workspace and approve or reject the individual changes.
    • Return to the Page edits board. The draft will now appear under “Ready to apply”.
    • Click “Apply to CMS” on the card.
    • In the delivery dialog, select the matching CMS item and click “Deliver to [Provider]”.
    • Wait for the “Inspect live check” link to appear once a live verification is scheduled.
  2. Export and manually apply a change without a CMS integration
    • Locate a “Ready to apply” delivery card.
    • Click “Download Markdown”, “Download HTML”, or “Copy developer ticket”.
    • Manually apply the new content in your CMS.
    • Pick the date you applied it in the date input and click “Record applied date”.
    • Wait roughly 24 hours for the scheduled live check, then click “Inspect live check” to confirm success.
  3. Bulk-approve and deploy all pages affected by one recommendation
    • Switch the grouping toggle to “By recommendation”.
    • Find the recommendation card summarizing status counts across your pages.
    • Click “Approve and deploy” to approve all pending changes for that check and push the staged pages to the CMS.
    • Review the toast notification summarizing how many pages were approved and delivered.
  4. Select multiple pages and bulk-apply to CMS
    • Switch the grouping to “By page”.
    • Check the boxes on multiple page cards (use Shift-click to select a range).
    • Click “Apply [N] pages to the CMS” in the top toolbar.
    • Watch the progress text in the toolbar and review any error toasts for pages whose live content changed since they were drafted.
  5. Investigate a live-check mismatch
    • Find a delivery card displaying “Live content differs from the approved version.”
    • Click “Compare” to open the verification report.
    • Review the fields to see exactly what differs between the approved draft and the observed live page.
    • Return to your CMS to correct the live page, then click “Retry verification” (or simply draft a new version if the live page’s changes were intentional).

Empty, loading, and error states

  • Empty: If no edits have been drafted yet, you will see “No edits yet” with the description “Open a page or an issue and choose Fix with Athena.” and buttons to “Go to Pages” or “Go to Issues”.
  • Loading: A skeleton block appears while the delivery board is fetching data. If a bulk action is actively processing, a progress message like “Delivering 1 of 5” appears in the toolbar.
  • Error: If edits fail to load, a red callout titled “These edits could not be loaded” is shown with a “Try again” button. If a specific CMS delivery fails, an error toast will appear.

Common support questions

  • Why can’t I click “Apply to CMS”? You need content-write permissions to deliver changes. If you are a viewer, the buttons are disabled and a note will advise you to ask an administrator for access. Additionally, your CMS provider must support direct delivery (e.g., Sanity or Contentful). Other providers currently require exporting.
  • What does “Live content differs from the approved version” mean? After you apply a change and record the date, Athena checks the live URL. If the text, title, or metadata on the live site doesn’t match the approved draft, it flags a mismatch. Click “Compare” to see exactly what is different.
  • How do I handle structured data (JSON-LD) changes? JSON-LD changes cannot be pushed automatically via direct CMS integration. You must export the HTML or Markdown, manually install the JSON-LD in your page template, and then click “Record applied date”.
  • Why is the delivery board empty? You haven’t drafted any changes for this website yet. Navigate to the Issues or Pages view in Site Health and click “Fix with Athena” on an issue to generate your first draft.
  • I can’t find a specific page draft. Check your stage filters (e.g., ensure “All pages” is selected instead of “Ready to apply”) and clear the search box. Also check if the single-page filter banner (“Changes for…”) is active at the top of the page.
